Message from the President of NSI

Dear Friends,

Dr. vk jain This year we are going to have the annual conference at Bangalore. Prof. Sampath and his team are already busy in organizing the conference. Over the years, the participation of various subspecialties in Neurological Society of India has increased significantly. We have been trying to collaborate with other international societies to continuously update ourselves with the help of the masters of the field and by opening ourselves to a multidisciplinary approach. Last year we had associated with CNS, USA for our annual conference of the society and this year we are associating with the Italian Society of Neurosurgery (SINCh). I am sure that all the members and non members would come to take advantage of this unique opportunity of learning by various seminars, symposia and scientific paper sessions.

Like every year we will have scientific papers on neurology and neurosurgery and allied Sciences. We have many subspecialties societies also e.g. Academy of Neurology, Society of Interventional Neuroradiology, Cerebrovascular Surgery Society, Skull base Surgery Society, Neurotrauma Society etc. I feel that some kind of integration should be achieved between these societies and the Neurological Society of India while maintaining the independence of each. This might go a long way in forming national policies and guidelines regarding training postgraduates, treating patients and conducting multicentric studies. The question is how to achieve this integration. We may have one member from the executive committee of these societies nominated in the executive committee of NSI for coordinating the integration. I invite your inputs regarding this and for improving the functioning of our society...

On behalf of the executive committee I invite and welcome you all to attend this conference and make it a success

Prof. VK Jain
President,
Neurological Society of India
